On 27th September this year Dennis and travelling companion Paul McClelland will be off to Africa. The plan is to cycle from Uganda to Zambia via Rwanda, Burundi (possibly the Democratic Republic of Congo) and Tanzania. It will involve over 3,500 miles of cycling across some of the most challenging terrain in the world. As well as encounters with the natural wildlife (not too close we hope) there will be visits to Lake Victoria, the source of the mighty Rive Nile. White water rafting and kayaking are also high on the list of priorities.
The journey will end at Livingstone in Zambia, close to Victoria Falls. Here Diane (long suffering wife) and son Chris (not quite so long suffering) will fly out to join up with the two adventurers. The plan is to spend 3 weeks over the Christmas and New Year period exploring Zambia and possibly Zimbabwe.
